MS. KATHERYN BELL ALEXANDER, 77

Funeral Services for Ms. Katheryn Bell Alexander will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Family Hour is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday Night at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.

Lady Katheryn Alexander was born February 11, 1942 to the late John Alexander and the late Mardria Page at Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana where she was third of six siblings.

Lady Katheryn accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the early age of twelve, and was the first member baptized under the leadership of Rev. J.D.Thomas at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in 1954. She was a faithful member and served in various ministries, including church Secretary, Sunday School Musician and The Sunshine Choir. She later joined Mount Canaan Baptist Church in 1984 under the leadership of Dr. Harry Blake Sr.
Lady Katheryn received her education in Caddo Parish School System. She received her early education at Union School and graduated from Booker T. Washington Class of 1961. She joined the workforce as a Dental Hygienist under Dr. Carpenter. Upon his passing, he provided Lady Katheryn with the resources needed to attend Nursing School. She attended Louisiana Technical College and received her Nursing Degree.

Lady Katheryn started her Professional career at Willis Knighton Medical Center where she served twenty years. She then gained employment with Cardiovascular Consultants under Dr. Michael Futrell working twenty plus years where she retired. Lady Katheryn served as President of the Board of Directors for Loving All Little Ones Incorporated a Non-Profit Organization.

Lady Katheryn’s memories will forever be cherished by all who loved and knew her. She is survived by her children: Gregory W. Bell (Queena) Eleanor L. Bell; Rosalind Bell Kelly (Derrick); Pamela Bell Lard (Devertis), Siblings Wilma Turner (William), Clarice Freeman, Hersey Godfrey (Wilmer), Beatrice Alexander. Grand Children Kimberly Bell, Krystal Bell , Steffon Jones(Aphten), LaAndrea Bell, Katheryn Bell Cauthen(Timothy), John Bell, Demetrius Bell, Miracle Kelly, Favor Kelly, ten Great-grandchildren and a host Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Special Friends Lee Washington, Rosa Walker, and Lillie M. Norton.
